The Challenge
The world-famous Skyline Enterprises was born in Queenstown back in 1964, and is a well-loved attraction visited by thousands of Kiwis – and millions of tourists – across both locations in Queenstown and Rotorua.
The Skyline model of a unique Gondola system, Luge ‘downhill karting,’ and a restaurant serving up local delicacies and fantastic views worked so well in New Zealand that it was expanded internationally into both Canada and Singapore, plus two Korean locations and construction underway in Sheffield, England and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
At the end of 2016, the marketing team at Skyline knew that despite successful returns using traditional marketing, there was a huge opportunity to tap into further traffic in the digital market. The Skyline team required global marketing expertise to drive offshore and domestic tourism traffic to both their New Zealand and global sites.
Skyline’s General Manager of Commercial, Michael Ramsey, had previously worked with Search Republic during his time at ASB and didn’t hesitate to bring Search Republic into the Skyline Enterprises marketing fold.
